So, finally I post again but as usual its a rant so sit down and listen up.
Click-O_
So after some odd years away from home, all is fair until the DUMB ASS electricity company returns to its usual ways. Cleco or what WE like to call them–Click-O takes the liberty to shut down power in our area. Mind you that this was in the HEAT of the DAY WHEN IT WAS THE DAMN HOTTEST.
Anyway, we are stuck without power. No A/C. No electronic entertainment. And no way for me to rest. Ok, so a little background about Louisiana. Where we live is about 50 odd miles from the nearest coastal area. The humidity is almost ALWAYS 100%. It is hot even at 76 degrees with the humidity being that high. BUT it was around 3pm and it was close to 95 degrees. Every ounce of my body was sweating. All pores opened to the max. This was sauna material.
Well, I decide to give them a call. The usual automated answering machine picks up and I follow the usual breadcrumb crap. AND it tells me that the power would be turned BACK ON at 5pm. I’m like WTF!!! Do they know WHAT TIME IT IS! For those who don’t know, the hottest time of the day is usually 3pm and NOT 12pm. So its like 3 hours of torture. I didn’t mind the inconvenience of not being able to use my computer or watch TV. IT WAS THE INABILITY TO ENJOY THE AIR CONDITIONER!
It doesn’t stop there folks. After the power was turned BACK ON, a thunderstorm brews up and decides that it wants to play with the power. Naturally this is an opportunity for the power company to make money. Yes as usual the power flickers. BUT afterwards it went off for about 5 minutes. I highly doubt that the system would stay down for that long from a simple lightning strike nearby. Call me crazy but this power company has a history of doing this kind of thing. The real problem is, the dumb politicians don’t want to create an atmosphere where more than one power company can compete here in this area. Just like the Cox Cable garbage. And they wonder why Louisiana is in the low education bracket.
