After nearly a month, my Gaming legs are back. Back form a RMA, my PC’s motherboard was repaired and everything is right with the world again(well, atleast my world). And just in time, a whole bunch of events are going on in the gaming world. One is the launch of Wrath Of the Lich King. For the last few days, the land of Azeroth has been attacked by zombies. The plague got so bad that it almost instantly turned everyone into the walking dead. On the Guild Wars side, Mad King Thorn has returned with his usual antics. Promising goodies and grief along the way. The only thing that is usually different is the type of seasonal hat he has to give out this time around.
Also on the way is Left 4 Dead. I’ve been waiting for this game for a long time now. Everything I hear about it seems to be very awesome. Even those who have played it, loved it. And it releases the same week as Wrath. How’s that for splitting your time in gaming. I also plan to pick up Castlevania: Order Of Ecclesia for the DS whenever I get a chance.
Christmas has come and gone but in some MMOs, it lasts for like a week or two. In Guild Wars, its one of those holidays. One of the areas in the game however doesn’t celebrate the in-game holiday called Winter’s Day which is similar to real life. The Factions area called Cantha was inspired by oriental nations. However Tyria has 3 major places to celebrate. One is in the old area of Ascalon, on is in the next kingdom called Kryta and the last is in a newer kingdom named Elona.

Every year, they give out themed hats and various powerups. Which is pretty much in line with other MMOs like City Of Heroes and World Of Warcraft, though the execution is obviously different. In Guild Wars, a godly character gives a speech and then gives you a unique hat depending on where you viewed that character. In WoW, I believe that you have to win one off of a boss in an instance. In City Of Heroes, its won through a mission (I think, its been a while) which unlocks every holiday and gives you a badge to prove that you did it. This particular event has always been pretty enjoyable and has plenty to do. If you haven’t fired up Guild Wars in a while, now is one of those times to do so.
So I finally gotten the GW:EN prerelease bonus pack and am quietly awaiting the release. It cannot get here any sooner, I am dying for another adventure.
Another thing that has popped up today is the release of the Steam Community Beta program. So if you just so happen to have Steam, load it up and join the beta program through the setting dialog in Steam.
…It’s not the prettiest thing in the game, but its amazing. Many pipes, with dragon head spouts. It must have took them a long time to build it all…
…One of the best landmarks ever in Cantha, this was once a guide to many ships that came through, now stuck in the sea of jade…
…This was a sight to behold, deep within mainland Cantha. Many creatures roam that area too…

…An Image of a pathway during the opening of the game. It was so compelling that I just had to take a pic of it…

…Well, I’ve been gone a while but life often gets in the way. ANYWAY, This pic was taken on-top of Augury Rock. A VERY nice view of an ancient city in the background and dunes of pure sand…
